Whetstone Church
Our first building was completed and dedicated on January 19, 1874, located on the south side of 60th street. The present building was built on the north side of 60th, and was dedicated on February 26, 1939. An education unit was added to the north side of the church and dedicated on February 26, 1967. The sanctuary was remodeled and a new south entrance was added. Its dedication was on January 11, 1976.
David R. Grile Memorial Building
David Grile was a bright and energetic teenager, who tragically died as the result of a swimming accident. A building fund was started in his memory to provide a place for young people to have fun together and grow in faith. Over the years, noodles were sold and various fundraisers held. January 16, 1994, the Memorial Building was finished and dedicated. It contains a gym, kitchen, restrooms, and upstairs youth room. The Building is available to our youth for special events and weekly meetings; the church picnic; Church Bazaar; Ladies Banquet; Family Nights; and other church events.
It is available to be rented for birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, reunions, and groups that just want to play ball. Click Here for rental information.
Parsonage
We are happy to provide our pastor and his family with a home next to the church. Steve, our current pastor, and his family have lived there for over 16 years.
Church Bus
We got our church bus in 2002. We use it on church outings, special events, and to take kids to churchcamp each summer. It is equipped with a wheelchair lift, and has a 17-person capasity.
